The panel will explore each author's embodied art therapy methodology and the ethical mandate for art therapists to utilize body-based methods of treatment and care.
Bri Beck, author of Chapter 14: Engaging Disability Art: Lessons for embodied, anti-oppressive art therapy and Jennifer Tedesco and Cindy Perkiss, co-authors of Chapter 15: Grace in the broken parts: Embodied art therapy methods for working with chronic pain and medical trauma will take place in a panel discussion moderated by The Embodied Art Therapist editor Kelley Linhardt. titled: Repair and Reclamation: Disability Art and Embodied Art Therapy in Conversation during the American Art Therapy Association (AATA) virtual conference. The panel will discuss social justice-informed best practices for working with medical trauma, disability, and chronic pain using embodied art therapy.
